Solitary & Mason Bee Nests
They do not cause any damage to a garden, and should be welcomed as effective pollinators.
Bees in the Halictidae family are otherwise known as "sweat bees" because they are attracted by perspiration; females can give a minor sting if trapped. These nest inside ground or in lumber, and they are societal, though their caste system differs from that involving honey or bumblebees. And the Colletidae family comprises plasterer bees, so called as they smooth the walls health of their nest cells with secretions that dry into a lining resembling cellophane. These include solitary bees, found mostly in Australia and South usa.
